At Christmas time Lake Achensee turns especially cosy — between wreath binding, a festively decorated boat service to three Christmas markets and the Mountain Advent at the Fischergut, there is Advent atmosphere in abundance.

Bind your own Advent wreath

On 21 November 2026 the Gesunde Gemeinde Eben invites you to bind Advent wreaths at the Maurach community centre. Guided by Denise Wurzer, you make your own wreath between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. — a lovely start to Advent, on your own or with the family.

Christmas line — Achensee boat service

By boat to three Christmas markets

From 27 November to 27 December 2026 (plus 8 December) the festively decorated Achensee boats run between Pertisau and Achenkirch, linking three Christmas markets: the Mountain Advent at the Fischergut in Pertisau, the country Christmas at the Kräuterhüttl and the Tyrolean mountain Christmas at the Sixenhof museum in Achenkirch. On board there is mulled wine, hot drinks and home-made snacks (not included in the fare). On 6 December St Nicholas even arrives in Pertisau by boat.

Good to know: A single trip costs about € 15 (journey time about 45 minutes), a return trip about € 30. The family ticket for 2 adults with their own children or grandchildren up to and including 16 costs about € 60. Children up to 6 travel free, 7- to 15-year-olds pay half. Groups of 10 or more get about 10 % off (only for the first trip from Pertisau and Scholastika). Dogs travel on a lead and muzzled for about € 4. Tickets are available online in the Achensee experience shop.
